The relationship between nutrition and postural status in preschool children is of significant importance for their overall health and development. Proper nutrition plays a vital role in supporting the growth and development of a child’s musculoskeletal system, including their posture. Previous studies indicated notable disparities in the postural condition of boys and girls, with respect to knee and foot positioning, among normally nourished and obese male children.
The aim is to study the relationship between nutrition and posture in preschoolers, considering gender differences. To achieve this, data was meticulously gathered from a carefully chosen sample of 177 participants enrolled in preschool institutions. Notably, the study encompassed 92 female participants and 85 male participants, all six years old with a minimal age deviation of ±0.5 years. Hypotheses suggest a significant correlation between nutrition and posture and a difference based on gender. To determine the relationship between nutritional status and postural status, Spearman’s correlation coefficient was applied. Additionally, to assess differences in postural status with respect to gender dimorphism, the chi-square test was utilized. The study has both theoretical value and practical since it can guide future researchers and drive recommendations for corrective treatments.
