Professor Ian Jeffreys: Gamespeed system and RAMP warm-up
Ian Jeffreys is a Professor at the University of South Wales, where he directs the Department of Sport and Exercise Science. He is an internationally renowned coach, educator, and author. Ian’s area of expertise is speed and agility development, together with athletic development, which makes him a world authority in strength and conditioning. His unique Gamespeed system and RAMP warm-up protocols have been adopted by a wide range of coaches and organizations, and it has been an indispensable part of our Strength and Conditioning course.
Ian has been a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) since 1989. In 2016 he was elected to the Board of Directors of the NSCA and was the Vice President of the Association. Ian is on the British Olympic Association register of strength and conditioning professionals and he is a Founder Member of the United Kingdom Strength and Conditioning Association and was a member of the Board of Directors from the organization’s inception in 2004 through to 2013.
Ian has authored many books like Total Soccer Fitness; A Coaches Guide to Enhancing Recovery – The Performance Lifestyle; Developing Gamespeed (first and second editions); Developing Speed, Soccer Speed and Strength and Conditioning for Sports Performance and the Warm-Up. He has authored over 20 book chapters including the warm-up and flexibility chapter for the fourth edition of the Essentials of Strength Training and Conditioning and numerous strength and conditioning articles which have featured in the leading international Journals.
In October 2019, Ivana and Dragan meet professor Ian at his Gamespeed workshop in Dubai and since then we are proud to say that we have professors support in the further development of Strength and Conditioning and its expansion in the United Arab Emirates. Besides teaching his methods to Fitness Professionals we are looking forward to hosting Professor Ian again in Dubai, this time with the idea of presenting his methods to the professional sports clubs across the UAE.
