Known for its strong reputation, the University of Birmingham has recognized HERC’s aim to bridge the gaps and drive change across all domains of sports science research and education in the MENA region. A common interest in the expansion of the UAE’s research potential was a starting point that built a shared vision. To strengthen the educational and social role of physical activity and sport, both sides agreed on bringing together resources, expertise, and knowledge to facilitate work on various joint projects. In the context of regional and local sports and physical education development, future collaboration can contribute to raising public awareness of the importance of scientific research in physical education development and health promotion.

”This was a huge milestone for us at HERC, especially when it comes to education and research in exercise and sports science. We have been empowering changes within’ our industries for quite some time, and to have UOB as a partner is to dream come true. UOB is 6th in the world in sport-related subjects and 88th overall on the global list of Universities, so HERC is proud to work with such a world-leading University. We look forward to supporting MSc programs at UOB, and developing various joint projects in collaboration with Government entities such as General Authority for Sports and Dubai Sports Council” said HERC’s CEO, Željko Banićević.

HERC’s Research department is committed to empowering direct engagement between public and private sectors to make an impact on a global scale. Bringing together world-class experts and specialists from different fields could encourage new ideas, solutions, and recommendations and inevitably result in tackling emerging challenges. Various research findings could be deliberately used as a blueprint for regulatory bodies and their strategic approach to addressing urgent needs within the health and well-being sectors. Therefore, HERC is taking initiatives to communicate its research activities beyond academic circles and accelerate the UAE’s growth in healthcare and education.
