HERC team at the conference

The HERC team will be engaged in multiple capacities throughout this year’s conference. In addition to our online presence from Dubai, our Co-Founder and Managing Director, Ivana Banićević (Ph.D.*), along with Erin Egelhoff (Ph.D.*), will be physically present at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas!

Ivana Banićević will have the honor of delivering a presentation before esteemed members of the NSCA Board of Directors and various representatives. Furthermore, over the course of the event’s four-day duration, she will actively participate in a multitude of meetings aimed at fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. Among them are scheduled meetings for the Sports Science & Performance Technology Special Interest Group (SIG), as well as the Long-Term Athletic Development Special Interest Group. Additionally, following the conference, Ivana is scheduled to embark on an official visit to the NSCA Headquarters situated in the vibrant city of Colorado Springs, renowned for its Olympic legacy.

Erin Egelhoff will attend the Special Interest Chair meeting. Furthermore, she will assume the role of chairperson for the Exercise/Sport Psychology Special Interest Group, as well as facilitate the Figure Skating Special Interest Group. Erin will also attend Sports Science & Performance Technology Special Interest Group, as well as the Long-Term Athletic Development Special Interest Group, and will be introduced as a new Vice Chair of the SIG.

HERC’s Expert Group member’s activities at the conference

We have recently made a public announcement regarding the formation of the inaugural Expert Group in sport and exercise science within the UAE. The 2023 NSCA National Conference will commence with an opening address from Prof. Brent Alvar, who serves as the President of NSCA. At 1 pm on Wednesday, Prof. Ian Jeffreys will conduct a workshop titled “Speed & Quickness Development for a Lifetime.” Dr. Dimitrije Čabarkapa, on the other hand, is scheduled to deliver a presentation on “The Importance of Strength Training for Optimal Basketball Performance” at 4 pm on Wednesday, and will also participate in the NSCA Foundation Data Blitz on Thursday at 4 pm as a member of the NSCA Foundation-funded research. On Saturday at 9.30 am Prof.Ian Jeffreys will lecture about ”The Difference Makers – What really Matters in Strength and Conditioning”.
